An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Factory manager to work for an outstanding FMCG Organisation.
This senior level role will analyse processes and work to improve upon current high levels of quality, productivity and efficiency all to the end of meeting customer expectations.
As the Factory manager you will lead at a team of 30 – 40 Operatives and 4 Supervisors to ensure continuous and efficient operations in accordance with Production, Health and Safety, Quality and Hygiene. Additionally this role will assume responsibilities for HR, technical, NPD and logistics.
Full site responsibility
Ensure site is ready for customer inspections at all times
Work to gain BRC accreditation each year
Communicate with suppliers and customers with any issues or queries that arise
Monitor product standards and implement quality control programmes
Drive delivery of operational KPI’s and control costs according to annual budgets.
Coordinates activities that affect operational decisions and business requirements
Plans, schedules, and reviews workload and manpower to make sure targets are being met on a cost-effective basis
Oversee high-level HR duties including attracting talent and setting training standards and hiring procedures.
Monitor production teams to ensure continuous improvement to minimise wastage
You will engage with your team by providing clarity of departmental goals through regular communication.
Implement and promote lean systems
Oversees the daily workings of the operations. Plans, manages, and implements schedules to ensure deadlines are met, and maintains a high quality standard of product production and delivery.
Ensure that all team members are managed consistently and fairly, taking action with poor performance, and encouraging and recognising good performance.
Ensure correct maintenance of equipment to reduce spend on equipment and parts
Maintain accurate stock management and rotation.
Previous experience at a Senior Level
Decisive leader with proven success in a manufacturing environment (preferably food manufacturing)
Someone with a positive mindset who thinks outside the box and thrives to ensure targets are met
Production and planning skills
Experience driving continuous improvements through management of KPI’s and performance managements
Outstanding people management and leadership skills with a natural flair for engaging, supporting and motivating your team to excel.
Excellent communication and organisation skills coupled with the ability to recognise training needs
IOSH, HACCP or Food Safety Certification
