Feel like there isn’t enough hours in the day to get everything done?
Whether you find it hard to stay motivated or focussed, or perhaps have taken on more than you can handle, getting yourself into panic mode might mean you often struggle to get much done. The key to success is to work smarter, not harder.
To help make the most of your time, here are five things productive people do every day;
- START WITH A MORNING ROUTINE
Having a routine is helpful for starting the day of positively. While the tasks vary, productive people have found a set of activities and order that works for them. For example, wake up at your right time, hydrate the body and eat a real breakfast. By doing a few focused things when you wake up, you can set yourself up for more productivity throughout the day.
- PRIORITISE WORK
Productive people understand the difference between important and urgent tasks, therefore can prioritise their tasks and do them one-by-one. They create a to-do list the night before; they do not take chances, they act – focussing on getting the hard jobs done first.
“For every minute spent organizing, an hour is earned.”
– Benjamin Franklin
3. DON’T CHECK EMAIL IN THE MORNING
If you check your email first thing in the morning, you’ll be distracted and pulled in all different directions. Instead use that time to plan your day. It will give you a sense of accomplishment and energy that will set you up for more success throughout the day.
- MAINTAIN A POSITIVE MINDSET
Your attitude determines your confidence and whether or not you can succeed. Many research studies suggest that a big part of being productive and ultimately successful is directly linked to positive thinking.
Productive people are positive; they have a clear sense of who they are and what they aim to achieve. This gives them the confidence to get more done and become more successful.
- LOOK AFTER NUMBER ONE
Productive people realise the importance of being healthy and are fuelled by their own well-being. They ensure they get enough sleep, eat the right food and exercise regularly.
To make the most out of every day takes a lot of intent and personal accountability. There is no time like now to adjust how you do things. Focus on getting more done in less time, become more productive and stop feeling so overworked and overwhelmed.
